Building a green Scarborough by fighting for systemic change, connecting progressive voices and holding community events. What will you hear from us?

Connect and provide assistance to existing Scarborough environmental organizations to enable wider reach, sharing of resources and maintenance of connections to communities. The purpose is to create a voting block large enough to influence government policy in Scarborough. free events in walking distance like seed giveaways, bike repairs, neighborhood clean ups and more. emic change, election endorsements, report cards and more. You will not be spammed, our pledge is to restrict emails to a maximum of once a month.

SEA is excited to be collaborating with artist collective Rehearsal for Change this fall for Staging Environmental Action - a unique space where FREE environmental action meets theatre and creativity!

All are welcome - no theatre experience required. Just bring your curiosity about our environment and a willingness to play and participate!

We will explore 5 different environmental themes over ten weeks! Refreshments provided.

Workshops take place every Thursday, 5:30 -7:30 pm starting Sep 17 until Nov 19 at (tag venue:The Hub-Mid-Scarborough)

🎨🌱 What a day! Thank you to everyone who came out for our sold-out rock painting workshop AND day two of planting in our Pollinator Garden!

You talented folks painted rocks featuring the plants in our first garden bed! These will double as plant markers so visitors can identify what's growing while admiring your artwork. 🪨

Meanwhile, our second garden bed is taking shape thanks to all the hands that came out to dig, plant, and water! Every native plant means more habitat for our local pollinators.

🎨 Thank you to everyone who came out to our sold out rock painting workshop! We had so much fun getting creative with you!

You incredibly talented folks came out to decorate rocks with paintings of the plants growing in our first Pollinator Garden. These rocks aren't just beautiful, we'll be using them as plant markers throughout the garden, so visitors can identify what's growing while admiring your artwork along the way.

Last month, we hosted a special bird watching event with guest speaker Gerlyn Henry , who shared reflections on the movement for Palestinian rights and the importance of community involvement, collective action, and aligning our everyday choices with our values, including supporting the BDS Movement

As we watched birds that cross borders freely, we took time to connect with nature, reflect, and build community together.

We were inspired by the Palestine sunbird, a symbol of resilience, and by the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, who continue to remain connected to their homes and communities while enduring the devastating impacts of the ongoing genocide. Their resilience reminds us of the importance of hope, solidarity, and working toward a more just future for generations to come. Living authentically to our values.

If you'd like to get involved, we encourage you to connect with Scarborough Loves Palestine and continue advocating for the rights and freedom of the Palestinian people.
