Reset

Reset Reset is social enterprise that envisions a world where more of us feel permission and privilege to be brave and in joy!

Reset is a Toronto based social enterprise that envisions a world where more of us feels permission and privilege to just play. We started in 2015 with the organizing of adult digital detox summer camps just outside of Toronto. With the pandemic forcing the cancellation of the camp, we shifted our focus towards the city and the emerging needs in communities for accessible activities, collective ca

re and social justice. In 2021, Reset organized over 50 Pop-up Playgrounds in parks and public spaces around Toronto, followed by the launch of our Community Centre this year and the re-launch of our flagship event, Camp Reset, which will be hosted this September. Every year, our team makes the trek to (our beloved camp home) for a site visit. Over the last two years, thanks to the incredible generosity of the folks there, that visit has grown into a sleepover and it's one of our favourite things we do together.

We talk a lot about the journey being as important as the destination and the sleepover is an opportunity for us to live that. Campfires. Meals together. Collective storytelling late into the night. The kind of moments that remind us why this work matters and who we are to each other.

A lot happens, so much of it unplanned, but one of our favourite rituals is our Monday morning 9am team "meeting" on the waterfront. It's a small thing, but it carries a lot and is our way of saying that there are other ways to do this. Ways that are restful, playful, deeply relational and care-full.

Because how we work isn't separate from the world we want to build. It's a reflection of it. At Reset, we understand camp as a contributor to movements and specifically, we live in the Reimagine space. Through art, ritual, story, play, and embodiment, we work to shift culture and expand what people believe is possible. But we also resist, interrupting the systems that ask us to grind, disconnect, and sacrifice rest in the name of productivity. And in moments like these, we recreate by prototyping, together, what a more relational, joyful, and care-full way of working and being actually looks like.

Grateful for this team. Grateful for Camp Walden. Grateful for everyone who has shown up to co-create Camp over the years. And grateful to those who have gotten a ticket so far (we're 2/3s sold out!).

The Camp Collective and Team ❤️🌿✨
