SOS79 A group of committed leaders who are dedicated to leading CUPE Local 79 into the future.

SOS79 is a team of like-minded members who believe that it is time to reinstate foundational union values coupled with using modernized strategies to protect the employment of Local 79 members. We are committed to putting your health and safety at the forefront of the pandemic recovery, while ensuring that we continue to protect benefits such as sick time and job security for all of our members. W

e stand on the premise that no member gets left behind, and that applies to all three of the employers that Local 79 represents. Whether it be Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, City of Toronto or Toronto Community Housing Corporation, we want to ensure that every member is treated with dignity, respect, and care. We want our members to know that together we are the union and only together will we make a difference. SOS79 believes that it will take a unified, experienced and innovative approach to protect Local 79’s membership through the pandemic recovery period and beyond. We are dedicated to ensuring that members are afforded the opportunity to have their voices heard and not silenced. Also, that members’ dues are spent on advancing members’ issues in a responsible and member focused way.

Get those ballots in right away. There have been so many delays in the mail which SOS79 have cited concerns with from the beginning.

Please make sure you get your ballot in. If possible take it to a Shoppers Drugmart to ensure it get in on time.
