Staff are nurturing their green thumbs in our Wellness Garden Club. They were recently in action prepping garden beds and planting on the Michael MacMillan and Cathy Spoel Terrace on M4.

🍅🌿 This year, the garden features beefsteak tomatoes, bell peppers and herbs like basil, oregano, rosemary and parsley, alongside blooming perennials like Nepeta, Black-eyed Susans, Coreopsis tickseed, sedum and hostas.

Sunshine, fresh air and a little greenery go a long way! We can’t wait to see everything grow in the coming months.

Earlier this week, MGH staff, physicians, volunteers and learners took home a ready-to-eat family meal!

We hope everyone enjoyed the prepared meal with loved ones and spent time resting and recharging. Thank you for all that you do. 💚

Thank you to Berna and Myron Garron & Doug Farley for your generous support in making this meal possible.

When a patient’s condition starts to deteriorate, the difference between a manageable situation and a medical emergency can come down to how quickly the right support arrives.

MGH’s ICU Outreach Team works across the hospital to do exactly that, by bringing critical care expertise to the bedside, building staff capacity and doing everything possible to prevent a patient from needing the ICU in the first place.

Our Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) was featured in Beach Metro Community News this week! 🎉

HELP is a volunteer-based program that helps prevent delirium in older hospitalized patients by facilitating activities to keep them mentally and physically active.

One of our patients’ most popular activities is reading copies of our local newspaper, Beach Metro 📰

“This newspaper is popular among the locals. It’s current, you’ve got the date and the year, and it’s almost like a reality orientation for them,” says Deanna Rosolen, Activation Coordinator and HELP co-lead at MGH. “We either read to them or they can keep it for themselves to read, especially in the evenings when there aren’t as many visits and it’s pretty quiet. It helps pass the time.”
