For residents of Atlantic Canada pursuing full-time post-secondary studies at universities in the Atlantic provinces.

2. John E. Lowes Insurance Education Fund: September 25 deadline

For students who are IIC members and employed in p&c, or a dependant of an IIC member working in the p&c industry.

3. Alberta Insurance Council Grant: September 25 deadline

For Alberta residents pursuing their CIP, ACIP, or FCIP who do not receive financial support from an employer.

🚨 CIP Students: Enabling Skills is Now Mandatory 🚨

A reminder for all CIP students: Enabling Skills for the Insurance Professional is no longer optional.

Starting with Fall 2026 registration, students must complete all 10 Enabling Skills modules before registering for C16: The Business of Insurance.

✅ Free and automatically available to CIP students
✅ Fully online, self-paced modules (about 1 hour each)
✅ No textbooks, instructors, or exams
✅ Covers critical workplace skills like critical thinking, ethics, professionalism, advising, and digital fluency
✅ Complete them anytime, in any order, and revisit as needed

Greetings from our official ribbon cutting ceremony, held on August 20, 2026, commemorating the move to our new state-of-the-art facilities at 150 York Street, in the heart of Toronto's financial district.

In his remarks to the attendees, Peter Hohman, President and CEO of The Insurance Institute of Canada not only expressed gratitude and pride in the many students, members and volunteers who have shared our journey and brought us to this day but harkened to the Institute’s history.

Quoting Norman G. Bethune’s Presidents’ address, at the first Annual General Meeting of The Insurance Institute of Canada in 1952, Bethune projected that ‘The Insurance Institute of Canada will grow in strength and service to the insurance industry and the entire country as the years go by.’

“We can all agree that indeed this has come to be. It has taken a lot of people a lot of years of hard work since 1899. Please join me in celebrating the success of the Institutes and wishing them good fortune in the years ahead,” said Hohman.
