Heading to FIFA Fan Festival™ this summer? Look out for Tamara 👋 – one of the smiling faces behind the scenes at the very special venue: Fort York National Historic Site.

A longtime City of Toronto event leader and supervisor of Fort York, Tamara is ready to welcome the world this summer to a place she considers herself lucky to call her workplace.

Set at one of Canada’s most significant historic sites, Fort York is a place shaped by thousands of years of Indigenous history and culture, and by the events of the War of 1812 that helped shape Toronto and Canada.🍁 🇨🇦

During National Indigenous Peoples Month, we’re proud to celebrate this special place where history, culture, community, and the world’s game come together. ⚽️

When you’re at the festival, check out one of the free tours happening every day to learn a little about the ground you’re standing on.

See you at FIFA Fan Festival™ this summer! [🎉]

As we approach 🍁 Canada Day, let's enjoy fireworks responsibly! Remember:

Only set off fireworks on your own property 🏡
Fireworks are only allowed until 11 PM on Canada Day 🍁
You will need a permit on other days. 🍁
Always dispose of fireworks properly 🗑️

And please, consider your pets! The loud noises and bright flashes can be very overwhelming for them. Leave them at home if you’re going out, or find a calm and secure place at home if you’re staying in.

Stay safe and informed! For more info, visit:

Toronto, we know excitement for the beautiful game is in the air right now 🤩⚽

The Canadian Street Soccer Association, which is one of the recipients of this year’s Toronto Community Champion Award, harnesses soccer’s magical power to bring people together. Through sport, the organization works to create positive changes in the lives of people facing hardships, whether it's homelessness, addiction, or social isolation.

The organization works alongside shelters, partner organizations, and others to offer year-round, free and accessible support programs to help their players gain access to housing, social services, and, of course, human connection.
