CG Davis had the honour of signing the Book of Condolence opened at the Consulate General of Jamaica at Toronto in memory of former Cabinet Minister, Senator and Member of Parliament, the late Leslie Roy Campbell.

Mr. Campbell dedicated his life to public service and national development, serving Jamaica with distinction in several capacities, including as State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade with responsibility for Diaspora Affairs. His commitment to strengthening Jamaica’s relationship with its diaspora and advancing meaningful engagement with Jamaicans overseas leaves a lasting legacy.

Many in the Jamaican diaspora will remember his commitment to ensuring that Jamaicans overseas remained connected to and engaged with the development of their homeland. His contributions to public life and diaspora affairs leave an enduring legacy.

On behalf of the Consulate General and the Jamaican community across the GTHA, I extend sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who mourn his passing.

May his soul rest in peace.

Last night’s Jamaican Canadian Business Forum 2026 was a highly impactful evening of connection, learning, and practical exchange for entrepreneurs across the GTA.

Entrepreneurs openly shared their stories and lived experiences, raised ideas for collaboration, and explored ways to strengthen Jamaican-led enterprises. There was strong interest in doing business in Jamaica, and meaningful synergies emerged around trade, investment, market entry, and cross-border partnerships.

The forum reinforced the importance of creating intentional spaces to mobilise the Jamaican Diaspora towards entrepreneurship and to deepen commercial engagement between Jamaica and Canada. We are committed to building on this momentum and will be hosting more engagements to channel continued support for the Jamaican-Canadian business community.

Sincere thanks to our partners BDC, JAMPRO, ACBN, and to the JCA for hosting and supporting this important engagement.
