A little Thanksgiving throwback!
Sharing some of the delicious meals we served our residents this past Thanksgiving. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, love, and a heart of gratitude.

The candidates running for City Councillor in Scarborough-Agincourt, Ward 22, met with our residents.

Each candidate shared their vision and plans for our community, and residents had the chance to ask questions and speak with them directly. Issues affecting our seniors were also raised, and we’re glad they were part of the conversation.

Thank you to Bill Chan, Dan Lovell (represented by Donna LaRush), Donny Morgan, and Madhuri Azad for joining us, and to every resident who came out to take part.

Whichever candidate you’re leaning toward, we encourage you to keep learning about the candidates and make your voice heard on election day.

What a day at Shepherd Village!

It started with a chilly morning, then the smell of freshly baked pies, cakes, and treats drew us into the Courtyard Café for our Thanksgiving bake sale. Dessert? Officially handled.

Then the celebration kept going at the Village Club, our Adult Day Centre, where we marked 18 years of caring for seniors and giving their caregivers the relief they need. It was a party we won’t forget.

And this was only the warm-up! Thanksgiving is almost here.

Happy National Seniors Day. 🍂

We believe being a senior is about flourishing. It’s about continuing to find purpose and making an impact through wisdom, stories, and community. Getting older isn’t the end of anything. It’s the start of something different, and there’s real beauty in it.

As for us, we celebrated the day with a concert by The Vicounts and some fall-themed pastries. Thank you to every senior who shares their time and stories with us.

📰 Big news: Robbie made The Globe and Mail!

Shepherd Village Inc. was featured in a recent article on social robots and AI companions in senior care, and Robbie was right there in the spotlight. Since joining us in May 2026, Robbie has become part of daily life here. Robbie is the second phase of our technology efforts, building on the robot and other tools we have already introduced. Our experience with those earlier steps helped us welcome Robbie with confidence.

Just like our team shared in the article, Robbie isn’t here to replace the warmth of human connection. Robbie was created to add to it. Telling jokes, playing music, reading stories, and sharing trivia with our residents, Robbie brought a little extra joy to their day 927 times in July alone.

One of our favourite moments? Birthdays. Picture a delicious slice of cake, and Robbie standing ready to play Happy Birthday, lighting up the whole room.
