The Office of the French Language Services Commissioner works to ensure active, integrated delivery of French-language services in support of the development of the Francophone community and Ontarian society. The French Language Services Commissioner is responsible for conducting independent investigations under the French Language Services Act in response to complaints or on his own initiative. H

He is Chair of the IALC and of the Irish Ombudsman Forum, and also a member of the Executive Committee of the Ombudsman Association. Rónán Ó Domhnaill worked 16 years as a journalist with the national broadcaster in Ireland, and he has recently written a thesis on the independence of Ombudsmen in Ireland.
