Queen City Yacht Club

Queen City Yacht Club Founded in 1889, QCYC is one of Toronto's oldest sailing clubs. Our boats are moored in a sheltered lagoon with a gorgeous view of the Toronto skyline.

It's a community of sailors and friends located on parkland on Algonquin Island in the Toronto harbour - just minutes from downtown. Our beautiful clubhouse includes a restaurant, bar and Great Hall – home to our popular dances, concerts and dinners. We offer a full program of club cruises, club and inter club racing. Popular summer camp sailing lessons for children and adult keelboat lessons are

open to members and non-members. The Island ambience and sailing life at QCYC continue to attract members to their boats for entire weekends and as liveaboard commuters throughout the summer. And it may not be coincidental that Queen City annually entertains more boats from visiting clubs than any other yacht club on Lake Ontario. Interested in joining? Women’s Sailing Q&A - Thursday, August 7th, 2025 at 7:30pm
Ever catch yourself wondering why you do something on the boat—but feel awkward asking? Both new and seasoned sailors have questions they haven’t always had the change to ask. Join WOR Chairs, Rachel Kozicz and Karen Morch, along with a team of experienced female sailors, for an evening of open, judgment-free discussion about sailing and racing. We’ll tackle those questions you’ve been curious about, share practical insights, and bust common myths together. You do NOT need to be registered for the Women’s Open Regatta to participate. Submit your questions in advance HERE, and we’ll be sure to cover the ones that matter most to you.
