Who says there's only one way to dress up for Halloween? 🎃🧡

From spooky creatures and superheroes to imaginative homemade creations, Halloween is a chance for kids to express themselves, get creative and have fun!

Whether it's a costume designed around a wheelchair or mobility aid, an adaptive outfit, or a look that's uniquely their own, we believe every child should have the opportunity to enjoy Halloween in a way that works for them. 🫶

This year, we're inviting Easter Seals Ontario families to join the fun by sharing photos of their children's Halloween costumes for a chance to be featured on our social media on October 31!

Send us a DM with your costume photos by October 25! Don't have this year's costume ready yet? No problem! Photos from previous Halloweens are welcome too.

Drop Zone Toronto took place October 1, where we witnessed an Easter Seals legend in action.

Andrew Nielsen made Drop Zone history yet again by completing his ninth rappel in his power wheelchair, raising an incredible $25,746 this year in support of children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities.

Having attended our accessible camps and received equipment funding as a child, Andrew's firsthand understanding of the impact of Easter Seals Ontario's programs and services keeps him returning to Drop Zone every year, raising funds so more children can access the same support and opportunities.

Andrew shares:

“I’ve always been a bit of a daredevil. When I heard about Drop Zone, it appealed to my adventurous nature. I like to show people that the disabled can do anything — just maybe in a different way.

I also like giving back to Easter Seals as they helped to get new wheelchairs as a kid when I outgrew the old ones. And they helped me to go to camp every summer when I was younger. I also met my best friend at camp 39 years ago. I love knowing I’m helping kids go to camp too.”

WE DID IT!

Easter Seals Drop Zone Toronto 2026 is officially in the books and we have one BIG message for our incredible rappellers:

THANK YOU! ❤️

It takes courage to step off the roof of a 17-storey building, conquer your fears and take the leap, but you did it!

You didn’t just rappel. You fundraised, raised awareness, inspired others and helped make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities. Your impact goes far beyond the wall.

And what a day it was! Despite the weather forecast, our incredible friends at Tacten carefully monitored the conditions and gave us the green light to proceed. We are so glad they did, because every one of you got your moment to step to the edge and TAKE THE LEAP!

Whether you were excited, nervous, terrified, exhilarated or all of the above, you showed up and did something extraordinary. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves!

It’s a wrap! Last week, Easter Seals Ontario hosted the final Drop Zone event of the year.

To our rappellers who participated across Canada: thank you for your bravery, generosity, and determination. With your support, we’ve raised vital funds for Easter Seals’ life-changing programs and services for people with disabilities, helping us create greater opportunities and more inclusive communities across Canada.

Aliyah finds joy in life’s simple moments. ❤️

At 8 years old, she loves listening to music, exploring the textures of sensory books and enjoying cuddles with her family.

“Aliyah has a fun personality and she is always smiling,” shares her mom, Shondel. Although Aliyah is non-verbal, she has her own way of communicating with the people who know her best.

Born with cerebral palsy, Aliyah relies on specialized equipment to help her safely explore and experience the world around her.

With funding from Easter Seals Ontario’s Equipment Funding Program, Aliyah was able to access a stander that helps strengthen her muscles and a specialized bath chair that makes one of her favourite routines safer and easier for both her and her mom.

For Shondel, that support has made a real difference in their everyday lives. “Having the bath chair was really a great help. It really took that extra load off me.”

For Aliyah, the right equipment isn’t just about mobility. It’s about making room for the moments she loves most, from listening to stories and enjoying songs to feeling the water on her feet at bath time. Thanks to the generosity of Easter Seals Ontario donors, more children like Aliyah can experience those moments every day. 🫶🤗

Those who know Wesley best describe him as “the chillest, happiest, sweetest little guy ever.”

Born with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, Wesley experiences mobility and developmental challenges and is non-verbal. But none of that slows down his cheerful personality or his love of rubber ducks, swimming and zooming around the house in his favourite ride-on police car.

Wesley relies on specialized equipment every day, including a bath chair funded through Easter Seals Ontario’s Equipment Funding Program.

As Wesley grew, he outgrew the bath seat he had used since he was a baby, making it increasingly difficult for his mom to bathe him safely on her own. His new bath chair provides the support he needs, making bath time safer and easier for both Wesley and his mom.

“The bath seat has made a world of difference. Bath time has become one of his favourite parts of the day. He laughs his head off in there,” shares his mom, Kassandra.

Thank you to everyone who supports Easter Seals Ontario. Because of you, children like Wesley can access the equipment they need to safely enjoy the everyday moments that make childhood special. 💛
