DI created by Mohammed Rahmatullah Siddiqui(Aftab) for the revival of rich Deccani culture and heritage,Deccanis are people with distinct identity,language,culture,cuisine,dress,art and also film industry(deccanwood),Inhabitants of erstwhile Deccan state now trifurcated into Telangana,Karnataka,Maharashtra. The Deccani Muslims ruled
the Deccan plateau of India from the
fourteenth century until
1948. Their
language Dakkani is a mixture of
Hindi, Marathi, Persian, and Arabic. They are the descendants of intermarriages between Muslim converts from
Deccan and foreign
Muslim immigrants from the Middle
East, Central Asia and East Africa. For hundreds of years, the
Deccan Muslims were the social,
political and military elite in the
kingdom of Hyderabad. In 1948, the
newly constituted Indian government
removed the Muslims from power and
dismantled the state of Hyderabad,
splitting it down the middle into three
states.but still the Deccanis have retained there distinct identity,the government should recognize Deccanis as ethnic minorities and Deccanis should join consolidate and regain the lost glory by striving for a seperate state of Deccan.
