NHA is responsible for recognizing health status impacts directed at Aboriginal people living in urban and rural communities across the province. This diverse and geographically widespread population is fully represented through NHA's Board composition and its community based efforts. Results of these efforts are then delivered through specific organizational activities developed for building conn

ections with health care providers and decision-makers. The goals of NHA are to promote the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of persons of Aboriginal descent. Aboriginal health care needs are addressed and promoted using a perspective which honours the holistic approach to well-being and incorporates the continuum of health.
