π Happy Canada Day π
Today, we celebrate the people, communities, and shared values that make Canada home.
On this Canada Day, we extend our gratitude to our staff, volunteers, donors, community partners, and the many individuals who make Margaret's work possible. Your compassion, commitment, and generosity help build stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities every day.
We also warmly welcome those who are new to Canada. Whether you arrived recently or are still finding your footing, we recognize the courage it takes to begin again in a new place. Your experiences, cultures, and contributions enrich our communities and help shape the Canada of today and tomorrow.
Canada Day is also an opportunity to reflect on the work that remains. Across our country, too many people continue to face barriers to housing, healthcare, food security, safety, and belonging. Indigenous Peoples continue to advocate for truth, justice, and reconciliation, while many individuals and families navigate the realities of poverty, homelessness, and rising costs of living.
At Margaret's, we believe that dignity, housing, healthcare, and community connection are not privilegesβthey are fundamental to a healthy and inclusive society.
As we celebrate today, let us recommit ourselves to building communities where everyone feels valued, supported, and welcomed.
𧑠Honour Indigenous Peoples and the ongoing journey of reconciliation.
π Recognize housing as a human right.
π€ Foster belonging, inclusion, and community care.
β€οΈ Work toward a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
From all of us at Margaret's, we wish our clients, staff, volunteers, donors, partners, neighbours, and newcomers a safe, joyful, and meaningful Canada Day.
