President Volodymyr Zelenskyy: "Since last evening and up to now, the Russians have attacked Ukraine with more than a hundred different weapons – jet-powered drones, loitering mu*****ns, and ballistic missiles. A significant portion of these strike assets were shot down. But unfortunately, not all of them.

An ordinary residential building was destroyed in Kharkiv; the rescue operation continued virtually all night as first responders searched for people under the rubble. Four people were killed in this strike on the building in Kharkiv. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. In Kharkiv alone, 41 people were injured in just one evening. There was also a particularly vile ballistic missile strike on Kyiv – five missiles that hit civilian infrastructure.

Unfortunately, we received no early warning from our partners about this strike. Intelligence on Russian ballistic missile launches helps save lives, and this is one of the most critical issues. This is precisely what helps prevent people from being killed – when there is an early warning about ballistic missiles.

Ukraine has not carried out strikes on Russian oil refineries or the energy sector in general for the two days since the American President announced an energy ceasefire. But Russia did not heed the American President. During this time, the Russians have attacked both our energy facilities and our critical infrastructure, sending absolutely clear signals that they have no intention of refraining from strikes on Ukraine. Nineteen regions of our country have come under attack in these two days alone. Our position remains unchanged: Ukraine is ready for reciprocal steps toward de-escalation, and effective pressure on Russia is needed to make de-escalation happen. Wars end when the aggressor realizes that it cannot prolong the war.

Global pressure on Russia contributes to exactly that – bringing peace closer. But direct or indirect support for Russia, slowing down assistance to Ukraine, and making it harder to protect lives against ballistic missiles will certainly not help bring peace. Everyone needs peace. A strong America, a strong Europe, and strong partners are needed. Thank you to everyone who is truly helping!

In Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, a Russian strike on a passenger bus killed 30 people. In the village of Bilenke, part of the Kramatorsk community, three more people were killed today in Russian attack.

The search-and-rescue operation in Pryluky, Chernihiv region, was also completed following Russia’s missile strike on a five-storey residential building yesterday, which killed 22 people.

Moscow continues to escalate its terror against civilians, striking wherever people are. Unless pressure on Russia is increased, these atrocities will not stop. We call on international partners to support Ukraine’s defence and step up sanctions against Russia.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy: "Today, as a birthday “gift” to Putin, the Russian army destroyed a residential building in Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region. It was an ordinary five-story apartment building. Tragically, as of now, five people have been reported killed and 26 injured, including five children. There may still be people under the rubble. First responders are working nonstop at the site – doing everything possible to find every person.

Russian missile strikes also damaged five apartment buildings in Dnipro and four high-rise buildings in Kremenchuk. Tragically, two people were killed and eight injured. A high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia was damaged by a drone. In Kyiv, the Russians killed two people. Two more people were killed in Oleksandriya… My condolences to all the families and loved ones of those killed. Overall, infrastructure in Kyiv and 12 regions came under attack last night.

One of the key targets was our energy infrastructure. The Russians wanted to strike painfully and demonstratively. This was one of the most vile strikes: 70 missiles in total, many of them ballistic, as well as “shaheds.” Unfortunately, only some of them were shot down. Russian ballistic missiles remain the greatest challenge. And air defense packages for us right now are a vital necessity. That is why every day we are looking for missiles for Patriot systems that can and must actually protect people’s lives here, in Ukrainian skies. Thank you to everyone who is helping us."

Russia struck Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs, hitting civilian businesses and an area near a residential apartment building.

At least five people were killed, and more than 50 were injured in the attack.

Two large fires broke out at warehouse and production facilities. Apartment buildings and cars in a residential neighbourhood were also damaged.

Russia continues to attack Ukrainian cities and civilians, bringing more deaths and destruction. More pressure on Russia and stronger support for Ukraine are necessary to stop this terror.

The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is one of our country’s central institutions of scientific research, bringing together generations of Ukrainian researchers. Today, its building in the heart of Kyiv was hit by a Russian strike. A rescue operation is ongoing.

Russia continues to strike civilian sites across Ukraine, damaging essential infrastructure.

Every Russian strike must receive a strong response and increased pressure on the aggressor.

We call on UNESCO to stand with Ukraine's scientific community and strip Russia of its voice and voting rights within the organisation.

In Oleshky, Kherson region, temporarily occupied by Russia, people are facing a horrific humanitarian crisis.

Reports say residents are searching for food scraps and collecting grass simply to survive. Russia is cutting off supplies of food, medicine and other basic necessities, while denying humanitarian organisations access and blocking efforts to evacuate civilians. Russian FPV drones are hunting people in the streets.

Oleshky had around 24,000 residents before the full-scale war. Today, only about 2,000 remain, including around 50 children. There is no electricity or gas, while food, medicine and other essential supplies have been unavailable for the past month.

Ukraine is working to organise an evacuation. The ICRC has confirmed that it is ready to take part, and international humanitarian organisations are prepared to provide life-saving aid. Yet Russia is preventing these efforts from reaching people.

The suffering in Oleshky and other occupied communities of the Kherson region is a direct consequence of Russia’s actions. The international community must put pressure on Russia to allow humanitarian organisations access, establish a humanitarian corridor, and ensure civilians can leave safely.

"We will not allow these crimes to remain hidden behind the frontline and Russia’s refusal to grant access to the occupied territories," Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has stressed.
