More people than ever are turning to North York Harvest Food Bank as the cost of housing and food continues to soar, while access to full-time employment and sufficient income support stagnates.
Sadly, this reality is being played out from coast to coast to coast, according to 's Poverty Report Card - which graded Canada as a whole with a 'D+' for its poverty-reduction measures.
We join Food Banks Canada and food banks across the country in urging our federal and provincial governments to take immediate action to correct course on this crisis that is leaving so many Canadians barely getting by.
