Meet 11-year-old labradoodle, Melvin. Melvin and his family love hiking in Upper Warfield: They discover new trails all the time, sometimes make new ones, and usually go for hours at least twice a week on the long treks.

We're getting ready for Nightmare on Lauriente Way on Saturday, Oct. 24! We have a small but mighty committee and we'd love your help to bring it all together. Event is 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. and volunteer duties start as early as noon.

Help needed with:

💀 scary Lauriente Way characters - wear your creepy costume and be part of the fun!

Prescribed burn in Warfield: As part of the RDKB's FireSmart & Wildfire Risk Reduction Program, the RDKB & Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue, with support from BC Wildfire Service, are planning a 2.4-hectare prescribed burn on Village of Warfield municipal land between Whitman Way & Bingay Road. The prescribed burn is currently planned between Sat. Oct. 3 - Fri. Oct. 9, 2026, 8 am-5 pm. The final date will depend on suitable weather, fuel moisture, ventilation & site conditions. If conditions don't allow the burn to proceed during this period, operations may be rescheduled between Oct. 21 & 31. People who are sensitive to smoke, including those with respiratory conditions, may wish to keep windows and doors closed and limit strenuous outdoor activity when smoke is present. Residents are encouraged to avoid the treatment area, follow posted signage, & comply with directions from on-site personnel. Call 250.368.0259 for questions or email [email protected]

Repairs on the water system are still underway. The Village requests that residents continue to refrain from using water outside of what is necessary as the reservoir tanks we rely on begin to refill. Thank you for your efforts so far!
