In the Spring of 1842, Charles Dickens and his wife travelled to Canada, entering at Niagara Falls, crossing over to Toronto and then “the vessel in which the Dickens party sailed from Toronto to Kingston was a larger but less elegant steamer than Captain Richardson's Transit. So, taking one’s imagination on that trip, we know that Dickens passed Trenton, perhaps we can imagine that he actually g

ot off the steamer and came upon the characters that he was later to write about in his “little Christmas Book”. What: A one day event were people are invited to step back in time and enjoy the holidays the old-fashioned way with a Dickens Christmas, as Trenton Area Businesses give a gift to the public for their continued support throughout the year.
