Join us tomorrow for a hands-on day of invasive species management at Seymour Conservation Area! 🌿

Lower Trent Conservation will be working with volunteers to learn about Phragmites, an invasive plant that can spread quickly and impact native habitats. Together, we’ll learn how to identify Phragmites and manually remove plants from the site.

📅 October 15
⏰ 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
📍 Seymour Conservation Area

Please bring water, lunch, and sturdy footwear that can get wet or muddy. Gloves and equipment will be provided, and participants are welcome to bring their own hand pruners if available.

No previous experience is required—just come ready to learn, work outdoors, and help protect our local natural areas!

Forest Wellness: Gratitude Walk

Thanksgiving may be over, but there’s no reason to stop making space for gratitude, reflection and the things that help us make space for everything.

Join us next Saturday for our Gratitude Forest Wellness session and take some time to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with yourself and nature.

🌿 Registration is OPEN! Junior Conservation Club 🌿

Looking for a fun way for your little nature lovers to explore, play and discover the outdoors this fall? 🍂 Join our Junior Conservation Club! Designed for children ages 3–6 and their caregivers, this four-week program is all about getting curious about nature through hands-on activities, sensory play, outdoor exploration and plenty of fun.

📅 Mondays, November 2, 9, 16 & 23
⏰ 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
📍 Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Education Centre
💲 $50 per child for all four sessions

We will head outdoors when the weather allows, explore the forest and surrounding grounds, enjoy nature-inspired activities everything provided and led by LTC staff.

Caregivers stay and participate with their child.

Invasive Phragmites, also known as European Common Reed, can quickly take over wetlands, shorelines, roadsides and other natural areas.

🌱 Not all Phragmites are invasive! Native Phragmites can look similar, so proper identification is important before removing a plant.
