Libraries and crafts just go together! Stewiacke Library recently held their monthly Crafty Crew meeting and they made kinusaiga art. Kinusaiga is a traditional Japanese craft where fabric scraps are tucked into grooves carved into a foam board to create textured mosaic images. It is essentially "quilting without thread".

Here are more opportunities for adults to get crafty! Register at the library, by phone, or by email:

Here's a sampling of works included in the exhibit Wild: Burned into Being, running until June 30 in the 2nd Floor Exhibit Area at the Truro Library!

Pyrography simply means writing with fire. It is a captivating process that combines drawing, writing, and pattern-making, using heat to mark the surface. Inspired by nature and the wildlife around us, each piece in the exhibit captures elements of the natural world through line, texture, and controlled temperature. Drop in anytime during open hours to explore these pieces!

Donna Vigliucci is the artist behind this exhibit. She will be on site from 10:30 am until noon on Saturday, June 13 to talk with you about the works included in this display, as well as the process of pyrography. Drop in, no registration required!
