Correction to Booklet Mailed to Residents

On page 5 of the Nomination Period Information Booklet mailed to Tumbler Ridge residents last Thursday, it incorrectly states that Council is made up of 8 Councillors. The correct number is 6 Councillors.

The correct number of positions to be elected — 1 Mayor, 6 Councillors and 1 School Trustee — is also provided on page 2 of the booklet, as well as on the District’s website and in the official Nomination Packages.

Thank you to the resident who brought this error to our attention.

Monkman Way Walking Trail Lighting Project Underway:

The District of Tumbler Ridge is pleased to advise residents that work has begun on the Monkman Way Walking Trail Lighting Project.

Over the coming weeks, contractors will be installing new light standards and electrical infrastructure along sections of the Monkman Way Walking Trail. This project represents an important investment in improving public safety, accessibility, and year-round use of one of the community’s most well-used recreational pathways.

During construction, residents may encounter temporary trail closures, equipment operating in the area, and minor detours. We ask everyone to respect all posted signage, barricades, and directions from construction personnel to help ensure the safety of both the public and workers.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while this work is completed. Once finished, the new lighting will provide a safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable walking trail for residents and visitors alike.

The District will continue to provide updates as the project progresses. Thank you for your cooperation and support as we continue to invest in community infrastructure that enhances the quality of life in Tumbler Ridge
