Well the results are in and they were NOT in my favour. I ran because I was under the impression that our municipality wanted change. Alas, I was wrong. Congratulations to our newly elected council and fantastic job to all the candidates who put themselves out there. You can find the unofficial results at https://tweed.ca/ See ya in 4 years ✌️

There is only 12 hours left to vote for Tweed Municipal Council.
I am thankful for the experience this far, how much I've learned already and ALL the people cheering me on along the way.
If you haven't done so, please take the time to vote for the candidates you see best suited to represent our municipality. Everyone's vote matters!

To my knowledge, this is the highest number of candidates we've had for a Municipal election here in Tweed. And Based on the large turn out we had at both All Candiates meetings as well as the amount of emails and phone calls I've recieved there is definitely a desire for change in our community. The only way this can happen is to vote. We need as many eligible voters to voice their opinion as possible, it's how a fair and inclusive council is created. You have until tomorrow at 8pm to do so, please take the time!

10/20/2022

The Municipal election is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022 and voters will be able to vote either by telephone or on the internet using the PIN they receive in their Voter Information Letter. For enhanced security you will also need your date of birth in order to log in to vote.

A Voter Help Center is available at the Municipal Office to assist voters. If you require assistance you will need to bring your Voter Information Letter with you to the Voter Help Center. The Voter Help Center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from October 17th to 21st and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 24th.

If you do not receive a Voter Information Letter you can still vote by getting your name added to the Voters' List. It will be necessary to complete the appropriate form and bring identification with you to the Municipal Office to be added to the Voters List.

Last night I was able to attend the first ever Rural All Candiates meeting put on by the Queensborough Community Centre and kudos to them for putting on a well organized and welcoming event. All of the candidates and citizens showed up strong which made for a successful conversation about our community.
As campaigning now comes to an end, I can't be more thankful for the experience I have already gained or more hopeful for change in our Municipality.
Voting is now open until October 24th at 8pm. All I ask is you take the time to vote, preferably for me ;) but primarily for whom you see fitting.
If you have any questions or comments about myself, my beliefs or my intentions I can be reached anytime with a message, and email to [email protected] or by calling 613-242-8478.

This is it! Voting opens tomorrow at 9am and polls are open until October 24th at 8pm. I'd like to wish both my opponents and all the candidates for Deputy Mayor the best of luck. Here's to hoping that with change we can aim for change.

Sorry Tweed but times are changing. Our nearest charging stations via Google are Napanee and Norwood.
I can speak all day on how we need to attract tourists but if we can't accommodate their needs then it doesn’t matter. They won't park, they won't pruze our shops. The beer store won't be their last stop before wherever they are going. There are incentives to hosting a charging station and while it may not be viable on a municipal level it's completely practical for one of our existing prime location businesses to host.

I'm going to take breath this weekend as voting opens on Monday. Yes, we have gone entirely to online and telephone voting but if you're struggling with the system there is help for that. The information is on the bottom of the voters card you should've received by now. Last municipal election only 41.59% of our eligible voters actually did so. It's clear by the high amount of candidates as well as the feed back from our residents that a change is needed. Here's your chance. Get out (but you don't even have to) and vote this October 17th-24th!
