Canada Day in Tyendinaga Township – July 1st, 2026 🍁

Join us for a full day of family fun as we celebrate Canada Day right here in Tyendinaga Township!

This year, we’re excited to be combining our Bike Rodeo with our Canada Day festivities — a perfect match that brings even more energy and activity to the day. Expect a slightly different (and even better!) experience than in previous years.

For those unfamiliar with a Bike Rodeo, it is a fun, hands-on event where kids practice cycling skills like balance, braking, and road safety through guided activities and obstacle courses. It’s a safe, supportive way for riders of all levels to build confidence and learn how to ride responsibly.

🚨 IMPORTANT: Registration is required for both the Bike Rodeo and the Family Bike Ride.

👉 Register and find more info here: Hastings.Bike/Tyendinaga-Bike-Rodeo

Ride the Township is a monthly Monday evening ride series through Tyendinaga — one of the best places to ride a bike in southeastern Ontario. Good gravel, quiet roads, and the kind of countryside that rewards a slow look around.

Join the team from bayofquinte.bike and enjoy long summer evenings on the saddle.

The ride series is FREE and is open to adults of all skill levels. All bikes welcome — hybrid, gravel, road, whatever you've got.

Expect to spend about 2 hours on the bike. Adam and Laura will lead. No one gets left behind.

RSVP: https://boq.bike/events/ride-the-township-june/

Meet at 6:00 PM, wheels down at 6:10 PM.
Be prepared: helmet, lights, water, snacks, and a working bike are required to ride.
Sign the waiver before your first ride: boq.bike/waiver

The Ride the Township series is made possible through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

New cycling wayfinding signs are going up on Tyendinaga Township's rural roads this season, which means you might see a few more people riding bikes out on the roads we all share. 🚲

The tips in this graphic aren't just good habits. Many of them come straight from Ontario's Highway Traffic Act, including the 1-metre passing law (HTA s. 148(6.1)), required lighting, and rules for riding predictably and signalling turns.

One more from us: helmets are required by law for riders under 18 (and highly recommended for all), and bright or reflective clothing makes a real difference on rural roads where sightlines are short — for riders of any age.

Stay tuned for more cycling safety tips as we head into summer and spend more time on two wheels, enjoying our beautiful Township.

Whether you grew up on these roads or just found them, save this one. And if you've got kids learning to ride this summer — we'll see you out there.

This project was funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation through the Township of Tyendinaga.

In case you missed it, there is NO SOCCER this evening and the season start is delayed.

Details in the post, and sent to registrants emails!

⚽ Soccer Season Update ⚽

We wanted to share a quick update with our soccer families that the start of the season will be delayed.

While jerseys were ordered in early April, our local supplier is has experienced significant supply chain delays with the garment manufacturer. We are proud to support a local business, and many organizations are facing similar delays at this time. Based on earlier timelines, both the supplier and the Township had anticipated a late May delivery, so we are disappointed to have to share this update.

We are hopeful that the season will be able to begin next week, and we will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.

📧 A detailed email has been sent to all parents and coaches—please be sure to check your inbox (and junk folder). If you did not receive it, please contact Jack at [email protected].

📸 Photo Days have been rescheduled to June 23, 24, and 25.
📅 The season will also be extended by one week into the summer.

We understand this is disappointing and appreciate your patience and understanding.

We can’t wait to get out on the field soon!
