As we wrap up Paramedic Services Week here in Canada, we would like to recognize the amazing work that our Paramedics do on a daily basis. While you might think of Paramedics responding to 911 emergency calls in their traditional capacity, during Paramedic Services Week, the team at Western Pacific Emergency Response: provided medical standby at high risk sporting events, transferred two patients to Alberta, one to Seattle, and one to Victoria, provided on site medical coverage at BC Hydro generating stations undergoing grid enhancement construction, provided medical coverage for the expansion of the Highland Valley Copper Mine, supported two international air ambulance missions, assisted a patient onto a commercial flight home to Turkey, provided ambulances and paramedics to a major television series being produced across Metro Vancouver, and we are on standby and ready to support the BC Wildfire Service. That’s a typical week for our amazing Paramedics who are out on the road each day. Thank you for all that you do, each and every day!
