Good Evening Vancouver

Today we are publishing, with their express consent, victim impact statements from two people, Margaret Elizabeth and Sasha Janine. Both statements deal with abusive conduct received at the hands of Mathew Kagis. Matthew is a local individual known to frequent social justice and activism circles. Matthew was also known to seek connections with women from marginalized communities by claiming he is a safe space for marginalized persons and specifically a safe space for women. As of today, according to those directly involved, Matthew has refused to meaningfully participate in any accountability processes but talks a lot about how terrible he is. Mathew continues to display the same behaviors described in these impact statements Including but not limited to attempting to deflect, attempting to gain access to one of the people despite requests for no contact and publicly defaming and attacking her after she called him out for mocking her about the abuse despite knowing such conduct was unwelcome.
