We had a great time at the Stand Together conference last week! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Belonging Network and AgedOut.com table to say hello. We’re always grateful for the chance to connect in person.

One highlight of the day was Kim Barthel’s keynote, Relationship Matters: Sustaining Yourself in the Journey of Foster Parenting, which explored self-care and self-compassion for foster parents. Randy Charach also brought lots of fun to the day with his mentalist show.

A big thank you to Hollyburn Family Services, Family Services of Greater Vancouver, Milieu Children & Family Services, Vancouver Aboriginal Child & Family Services Society (VACFSS), and MCFD for bringing this event together. 💙

April is Stress Awareness Month. 🌱

Stress is a normal part of family life, and when one person is stressed, others usually feel it too. It might show up as big emotions, tension in the home, or feeling disconnected from each other.

When stress builds up, it can take a toll on our health and our relationships, but it doesn’t have to be something we carry on our own.

Here are some ways families can support each other and work through stress together.

What helps your family get through stressful moments? Share with us below! 👇

Happy Siblings Day! 💙

When the Lafortune family came across the profile of two brothers through MCFD, something clicked.

“Our social worker had suggested other potential matches, but something about their profile grabbed our attention: two brothers with mischievous grins, described as high‑energy adventure seekers. We were in the position to adopt two children and thought, ‘Well, here they are!’” ✨

The first year together wasn’t easy. The boys were adjusting to a new school, a new home, and a new family, but having each other helped them get through those early transitions.

Right now, there are more than 20 sibling groups waiting in BC government care.

Have you thought about adopting siblings, or do you have questions about what that could look like? Let us know in the comments! 👇
