It's a heritage listed building located in the heart of the community on the NW corner of First Avenue and Manitoba Street, which was the original shoreline of False Creek. The Salt Building, which was built around 1930 to refine raw salt and converted in the 1980s as a paper recycling plant, sat empty for a number of years. The building is owned by the City of Vancouver and prior to the 2010 Wint

er Games, it was restored to include a foundation upgrade and basement. During the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the building was used as the "athletes' living room". The building is currently home to the CRAFT Beer Market, a premium casual restaurant with fresh local food, and an extensive selection of draft beer.
