The Vinyl Record Library is a non-profit record store where members borrow vinyl records like books at a traditional library. The Vinyl Record Library has over 5,000 vinyl records from every genre and era. New albums are added every week. Anyone can join Vancouver’s Vinyl Record Library. Members pay $20 for 3 three months or $60 for a year. Members may take out 10 vinyl records at a time and can e
xchange the albums as much as they want. Memberships are ideal for DJs, music producers and local music fans who want to enjoy vinyl records without the revenue or space to keep a large private collection. Members are also able to purchase turntables, audio equipment and other accessories at the Vinyl Record Library when in stock. WHERE THE VINYL RECORD LIBRARY IS LOCATED
The Vinyl Record Library is located in the Vancouver, Art & Leisure building at 1965 Main Street in Vancouver, BC. The library is open during events and throughout the week. Times are available on the page. HOW TO GET YOUR VINYL RECORD LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP
You may purchase your membership at the library in person or via the website. Be sure to provide your name and contact information. Members of CiTR 101.9 FM (UBC Student Radio), CJSF 90.1 FM (SFU Student Radio) and Vancouver’s Co-op Radio 100.5 FM receive a $5 discount on memberships with station ID. How does the Vinyl Record Library handle lost items and late returns? Members are NOT obligated to return borrowed items, however, if any item is not returned during the course of the membership, that member will be required to purchase another membership in order to take-out additional items. HOW TO DONATE TO THE VINYL RECORD LIBRARY
The Vinyl Record Library is stocked with items donated to Vancouver’s Vinyl Donation & Recycling Program – proud sponsor of Girls Rock Camp, CiTR 101.9 FM, CJSF 90.1 FM and Vancouver CO-OP Radio 100.5 FM. The Vinyl Donation & Recycling Program accepts vinyl records (33s, 45s, 78s), CDs, cassettes, turntables, speakers, audio cables and miscellaneous stereo/computer equipment. Stereo equipment, records, etc do NOT need to be in working order. Any donations that we cannot salvage are recycled. Nothing is thrown away. To arrange for a donation to the Vinyl Record Library, fill out the form on Vancouver’s Vinyl Record Donation and Recycling Program page and one of our volunteers will contact you to set up a time. Volunteers are regularly available on Sunday afternoons to pick up donations anywhere in the Greater Vancouver Area. Special arrangements can also be made to pick up donations at other times throughout the week. You may also drop off donations at the Vinyl Record Library. Please contact us to ensure one of our volunteers is present and able to receive your donation. HOW TO VOLUNTEER AT THE VINYL RECORD LIBRARY
