This week, the children enjoyed a variety of engaging and enriching activities that supported creativity, learning, teamwork, and physical development.
We started the week with a delicious Baked Oatmeal Cups demonstration led by Katie, where children observed and learned about the baking process. The children continued their culinary adventures by baking Carrot Cupcakes led by Jolie and Daesan, the children had the opportunity to practice measuring, mixing, and following instructions while creating a delicious treat.
They also explored their artistic talents during a Calligraphy activity led by Connie, where they practiced fine motor skills and creative expression. Creativity and sensory exploration remained a focus throughout the week. The children engaged in colourful glow pebbles activity and enjoyed an ocean themed “I Spy” sensory table, providing opportunities for imaginative play, observation, and fine motor development.
Active play was also a highlight. During our Soccer Squad session, the children practiced teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship. They also expressed themselves through movement and rhythm during a Dance Pulse session. We also enjoyed circle time in the park, where the children participated in songs, stories, parachute, and other interactive games while appreciating the outdoor environment.
We took a special moment to recognize Nicole, our summer student, on her last day. We are grateful for her contributions throughout the summer, including her support during the Tour de Marpole and the exciting science experiments she led. A special thank you as well goes to our volunteer, Chrisley, for her kindness, dedication, and support. We sincerely appreciate the time they shared in our program.
Thank you to all the children and families for your wonderful attendance, enthusiasm, and participation throughout the week. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next week for even more exciting learning experiences and adventures at your favourite Drop-In Program!
