On July 26, the RCP attended a rally the against data centres being built in Vancouver. People were excited to see a communist presence and our signs quickly spread throughout the crowd!

Carney’s ‘AI for all’ is not an answer to the crisis the Canadian economy finds itself in. Carney has promised 250000 jobs, but has no way of backing these numbers up. In reality, these data centres are set to be built without a say from the communities in which they’re being proposed and only spell uncertainty for working class jobs!

How, when, and if technologies like AI are implemented should be up to the working class, and the decision should be made to serve what’s best for everyone— not what’s best for a few tech billionaires’ wallets.

Join the fight against these tech billionaires, visit marxist.ca/join ✊✊✊

The World School of Communism is an online educational event hosted by the Revolutionary Communist International. Over the course of six days, participants will have access to 20+ online presentations on Marxist theory, history, art, and perspectives for the class struggle today.

Join the Vancouver Communists in our watch parties of these talks across the lower mainland:

August 3rd:
🚩 Fred Weston from the RCI will explain how social democracy was once the dominant party of the working class, yet time and time again prove itself to capitulate to the capitalist class, and what kind of party should lead the working class.

🚩 Trump taking power in office, rising support for parties like AfD in Germany has lead many to call this the rise of fascism. This session will seek to answer the question: what is fascism? And are these growing movements fascist?

August 4th:
🚩 Some on the left have claimed the rise of countries like Russia and China as a counter-balance to the US and theway forward for a more peaceful and fair world. This session will explore if that is the correct tactic to fighting imperialism.

August 6th
🚩This session will explore the life and music of Shostakovich — and his true legacy: that of the musical conscience of the genuine ideals of the October Revolution.

BC nurses are back at the negotiating table after weeks of job action. The NDP government has taken the side of big business and failed to meet any of the BCNU’s demands.

The struggle needs to be brought back to the picket lines in order to ensure victory for the nurses.

The RCP stands in complete solidarity with the nurses.
Strike until victory!

“Those in power think citizens are cockroaches and parasites. They should know that cockroaches breed in rotten places. That’s what India is today.” - Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)

This weekend, the RCP attended a rally hosted by local CJP supporters in Vancouver after India’s education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, shamefully resigned in response to the mass student protests in India. The mood amongst supporters was celebratory but many correctly understood that the movement must continue to grow.

The protests against India’s corrupt education system, defined by the scandalous NEET exam leaks and ruined academic futures, is a reflection of the anger of Indian youth towards a political system that is failing them. Over 40 percent of graduates are unemployed in India, with many families staking their entire incomes on their children’s education and little to no certainty of a job in return.

Skyrocketing youth unemployment, cuts to student funding, tuition hikes, and a lack of certainty about their futures are not unlike the issues being faced by Canadian youth. Capitalism cannot offer a way out of this crisis. The youth and working class must organise to overthrow this rotten system - join us today at marxist.ca/join! 🪳🪳🪳

The Revolutionary Communist Party stands in complete solidarity with BC nurses!

While Mark Carney and the BC NDP hand out corporate welfare, the working class fights for jobs and healthcare!

Vancouver is one of the wealthiest cities in the world. Despite this, there never seems to be money to spare for beds, medicine, doctors, and nurses.

Where is the money for essential services going if not the people? We say, open the books! The workers should not pay for the luxuries of the rich!

There is only one way we can end this nightmare. We call on all unions and workers’ organizations to fight alongside BC’s nurses at the picket line. When capitalism threatens what matters in life, fight back with a widespread strike!

Together we can show them WE own these hospitals, not the billionaires! All power to the workers!

For the first time in over 25 years, BC nurses are on STRIKE! Comrades visited a picket at Vancouver General Hospital this week to show our solidarity. A BCNU representative even handed comrades the megaphone to lead chants!

In June of this year, the BCNU voted 98.2%  in favour of strike action! This is a historic mandate. Nurses are frustrated with the constant cuts, overwork, unsafe working conditions, amongst a myriad of other issues. The tentative agreement reached between the union and the bosses did not meet the nurses' demands, shown by their fervent rejection of the deal and continuous picketing.

Creative signs and slogans reflected the radical mood of a new generation of nurses who were eager to fight the system — even before the strike was called. Speaking with the nurses, it’s clear that the rank-and-file’s demands expand beyond those of their union. Other unions joining the picket line and constant support from cars driving by demonstrate that the masses are siding with their own class — the working class!

This strike is just one symptom of a deteriorating healthcare system under capitalism. As the Canadian ruling class scrambles to balance the budget, the BC government will be looking to make even more cuts to public services. The BCNU cannot succumb to this pressure. They must be prepared to defy any attempts to force them back to work, just as they did in 2001.

The RCP stands in solidarity with the nurses. With FIFA in town, immense public support, and the weight of other unions behind them, the nurses have the perfect conditions to win every single one of their demands. Strike until victory!

With the Canadian economy entering a technical recession, now more than ever are working people facing the harms of the capitalist system. There is no reforming our way out of capitalist crisis, the only way through is class struggle. This summer, the Vancouver Communists will be attending and holding various public events to find those that want to fight the system. Come find us and talk to us!

RCP CONGRESS 2026

The weekend was full of ideas and enthusiasm. We met comrades from all over the county and shared lessons from the work. We were inspired by how much the party has grown in the last period.

The task ahead of us is a big one but it is clearer than ever that with the right ideas and vigour, we can face it head on! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
