Mark your calendars! On October 2nd, LOCO BC will be hosting an All Party Meeting on Small Business and you don’t want to miss out!

Vancouver’s small businesses make our city great, and yet they sometimes have a tense relationship with the City’s government. Affordable leasing, permits, wait times, and zoning/licensing restrictions are just some of the issues of concern to local businesses. LOCO BC’s October 2nd event is an excellent opportunity for businesses like yours to voice their concerns and hear how the next mayor and council plan to make changes to create a better environment to do business in the city. Confirmed candidates include Shauna Sylvester, Ken Sim, Adriane Carr and others. Please join us for this event, bringing together Vancouver’s business community to bring about positive change. Tickets can be found here: https://locobc.silkstart.com/events/city-of-vancouver-election-all-candidates-meeting

Thank you Nathan Cullen for standing up for our coast. It is infuriating to listen to finance minister Bill Morneau talk about how the federal government had to take matters into its own hands while the provinces “ settle their squabbles”. Since when was respecting indigenous rights and protecting our coast and all the people and business that depend on it a “squabble”? His remarks are condescending and ignorant. The liberal government needs to be held accountable for this deplorable use of public money.

David nails it again...

If a university, especially one in the heart of oil country, isn’t the place to air a range of ideas about the geophysical, social and economic consequences of profligate fossil fuel use, we should be worried about the future of academic inquiry.
