🏆 Did your community celebrate National Public Works Week?

PWABC is inviting municipalities and public works organizations across British Columbia to submit their National Public Works Week activities for consideration in the 2026 CPWA National Public Works Week Awards Program.

Whether you hosted open houses, equipment displays, school visits, educational events, staff engagement activities, community outreach initiatives, or something completely unique, we want to hear about it!

📅 Submit your completed nomination package to [email protected] by June 23, 2026.

This deadline allows PWABC time to evaluate submissions and select BC's nominee before the Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA) national submission deadline of June 30.

The nomination form is attached to this post and includes all submission requirements and evaluation criteria.

Let's showcase the incredible work being done by public works professionals across British Columbia and highlight the positive impact our profession has on the communities we serve.

Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your submissions!

🚧💧🚦 It’s National Public Works Week (NPWW)! 🚜🌿⚡

This week is about recognizing the incredible people who keep our communities running every single day. From roads, water, drainage, and transportation systems to parks, utilities, and critical infrastructure, public works professionals are the backbone of safe, resilient, and thriving communities.

Public works is more than infrastructure. It’s about service, problem-solving, innovation, emergency response, and building communities that people are proud to call home.

A huge thank you to all the operators, engineers, technologists, planners, project managers, field crews, administrative staff, and leaders working behind the scenes to make it happen.

Let’s celebrate the people who keep things moving, often without recognition, but always with impact.

Happy National Public Works Week! 👏
