On May 26, 2026, at approximately 11:34 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to a report of shots being fired in the 5400 block of Brydon Cres in Langley.

First responders from the Langley RCMP, Langley City Fire Rescue Service, and BC Ambulance Services attended the area and located one individual in medical distress.

"Despite life saving efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene," said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. "The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in."

Officers will be conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages, and any further information will be provided by Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Langley RCMP cracks down on dangerous driving in Brookswood.

After reports of a disturbance near 41 Ave and 200 St in Brookswood, Langley RCMP identified and arrested a Novice (โ€œNโ€) driver after video captured dangerous driving behaviour in a public parking lot while youths were nearby.

The driver received multiple violations, a 7-day impound, and the vehicle was removed from the road after being deemed unsafe. A report has also been forwarded for licence review.

On May 24, 2026, at approximately 1:57 a.m., Langley RCMP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision in the 20200 block of 48 Avenue, Langley.

Emergency crews from the Township of Langley Fire Department, British Columbia Ambulance Service, and Langley RCMP attended the scene.

"Sadly, despite the rapid response and efforts of first responders, one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene," said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. "The circumstances surrounding the collision are still being examined, and investigators are working to determine the factors involved."

The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been deployed to assist with the investigation.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and witnessed the incident, or who may have dash camera footage, is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2026-15907.

In partnership with the Langley School District (SD35), the Langley RCMP Youth Unit recently took part in an interactive First Responders Workshop alongside Township of Langley Firefighters IAFF Local 4550 and BC Emergency Health Services.

A group of 40 Grade 11 and 12 students had the opportunity to see firsthand how emergency services work together in response to a motor vehicle collision scenario. This hands-on experience offered valuable insight into the teamwork, coordination, and quick decision-making required in real-life emergencies.

Participants also received recruitment presentations from each service, highlighting exciting career opportunities in policing, firefighting, and emergency medical services.

Langley RCMP is investigating after human remains were located near the Nicomekl River in the area of 53A Avenue and 206 Street on May 17, 2026.

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the remains are human. Investigators, alongside the E-Division Underwater Recovery Team, have continued searches in the area as the investigation remains ongoing.

On May 16, 2026, at approximately 12:32 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to an assault incident in the 5400 block of Brydon Crescent, Langley.

Frontline officers attended the scene and located the victim and evidence consistent with a shooting. A 27-year-old man has been transported to a local area hospital for further assessment.

"The investigation is still in its early stages and Police are working to determine the possible motive for the shooting," said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. "At this time, the incident appears to be targeted, and there is no ongoing risk to the public."

Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage around the 5400 block of Brydon Cresent between 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m., is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file 2026-14997.

Langley RCMP is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred early this morning on Fraser Highway between 232 Street and 240 Street.

At approximately 4:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of a person in distress and located a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. Tragically, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver involved did not remain at the scene.

Road closures remain in effect and motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage is asked to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file 2026-14967.
