Early Childhood Educators of BC

10/16/2026

Recently the YMCA CCRR New Westminster hosted ECEBC, where we took part in their Early Childhood Educator Networking event. ECEBC Ambassadors for the Fraser Region, Sabina and Anita, met with educators from the New Westminster community, sharing a meal and engaging in conversations about the unique challenges and opportunities in their Early Years context. It was wonderful to share about the province-wide work of ECEBC, including the Ambassador Pilot Project and our various bursary supports. A huge thank you to our generous hosts and to everyone who attended and helped make this such a memorable evening. It was an honour to spend time together with you on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish and Halq'eméylem speaking peoples.

Has it been a while since you read the real $10aDay Plan, also know as the Community Plan For A Public System of Integrated Early Care & Learning?
The Plan, originally released in April 2011 by ECEBC and the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC, offers a concrete, innovative and ambitious way forward and provides a framework for significant and lasting change. The elements remain relevant to set forth a strong pathway to universal child care in BC.

Talk to your local candidates about the importance of universal child care.
