We’re still reflecting on an inspiring evening celebrating environmental leadership across the Port of Vancouver. 🌎

From alternative fuels and innovative technologies that help lower emissions to actions that support quieter waters for marine life, this year’s Blue Circle Awards recipients are demonstrating that environmental leadership and trade can go hand in hand. Congratulations again to all of our 2026 recipients!

We're proud to celebrate and support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community this Pride Month 🌈

At the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, fostering an inclusive workplace means creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and empowered to be themselves. We’re grateful for the ongoing leadership, advocacy, and contributions of our ‘Pride of the Port’ employee resource group and its allies, who help strengthen our culture year-round.

Look out for us at the New Westminster Pride Street Festival in August!

This week, the ECHO Program launched its 10th year of voluntary initiatives to support the recovery of endangered southern resident killer whales and other at-risk whales off B.C.’s south coast 🐋

Building on strong participation in the March 2026 slowdown trial, ship operators from more than 80 marine transportation organizations will once again participate in voluntary measures this summer to help reduce underwater noise and physical disturbance in critical whale habitat.

Thank you to all participating ship operators and partners from the marine transportation industry, government, First Nations, and environmental organizations, for your continued commitment to creating a quieter and safer underwater environment for whales.

Have you heard? returns to Canada Place on July 1!

Grab your friends and family and join us on Vancouver’s waterfront for one of Canada’s largest July 1 celebrations — featuring live music, cultural performances, food trucks, family activities, interactive exhibits, an Indigenous Marketplace, and more across five city blocks.

This year’s celebration is extra special as Canada Place marks 40 years as an iconic waterfront landmark. Plus, Juno Award-winning band The Strumbellas will headline the main stage to close out the day 🎶

Thank you to the Musqueam Indian Band, Squamish Nation, and Tsleil-Waututh Nation, along with the many partners and sponsors who help make this event possible for connection, learning and celebration.

What does the future of lower-emission goods movement look like at the Port of Vancouver? 🚛⚡

Battery-electric container trucks are now operating at the port as part of a pilot program helping promote the adoption of alternative fuels and technologies in port operations.

The Electric Container Trucking Program provides participating container trucking companies with subsidized five-year leases and supporting charging infrastructure. The pilot phase includes five companies operating six battery-electric trucks.

The initiative will provide valuable real-world insights into truck performance, charging requirements, and operational considerations to help inform future decisions on the adoption of battery electric container trucks.

Thank you to the Government of British Columbia Transport Canada, 7Gen , and BC Hydro for their partnership and support in driving this pilot program forward, along with the five trucking companies who are now taking part in the program.
