Join us Friday June 26th, for a screening of Alfonso Cuarón’s 2006 cult classic
“Children of Men.”
Set in an undefined apocalypse of 2027, “Children of Men” shows humanity’s close and doomed future.
Mark Fisher’s Manifesto “Capitalist Realism” starts with an analysis of the films, arguing that, in the words of Slavoj Zizek, it is easier to imagine the end of the world than an end to capitalism. Through fiction, we interpret our internal apocalypse countdown, and perhaps even imagine a better future.
