CLBC Community Councils across the province recently hosted a series of welcoming open houses, bringing people together to connect, learn, and get involved in their local communities.
The Vancouver Richmond Community Council held a lively spring drop-in open house, welcoming more than 30 guests for an afternoon of connection, creativity, and conversation. Attendees enjoyed crafts, activities, and refreshments while learning about the role of Community Councils and how they support people in the region. The Council also took time to recognize and thank several members who are moving on, acknowledging their valued contributions and commitment to the community.
At the same time, the Central North Island Community Council hosted an open house focused on engaging new members from across the North Island. Council members shared information about Community Councils and highlighted their Councils PATH (Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope) plan, which is guiding their workplan for the year ahead. Community members came together to share food, win prizes, and learn more about opportunities to support their local community.
In the South Okanagan, the Community Council welcomed more than 30 people to an open house designed to inform, connect, and recruit new members. Guests enjoyed food, spin-to-win prizes, and meaningful conversations while learning about the Council’s work and how to get involved.
Thank you to everyone who attended these events and helped make them a success!
