๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ Reconnect with yourself in a grounding 60-minute Vinyasa Yoga practice surrounded by the calming beauty of the Garden. This ancient movement practice combines fluid postures, breathing exercises, and body awareness to guide you toward a more relaxed and conscious state. Like the flow of yin and yang, both effort and ease help release tension in the body and mind.

The tranquil Garden setting is the perfect complement. Step away from the outside world and turn inward in a serene, natural space. Arrive early to wander the grounds and let nature set the tone for your practice. Together, weโ€™ll move through accessible flows, balance effort with ease, and close with a peaceful meditation to reset for the week ahead.

Event Schedule:
Early arrival: Available 1 hour before your session begins.
Yoga: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
*Yoga will take place indoors in a warm and comfortable space. Please bring your own yoga mat and water.

Earlier this month, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden partnered with the British Consulate-General Vancouver to host ""The Future of Place: UK-Canada Perspectives on Urban Regeneration"", an evening of discussion and reflection on urban regeneration. Voices from urban planning, architecture, community development, and public policy from both the UK and Canada came together for a panel exploring stories of regeneration on both sides of the Atlantic, with the story behind Vancouver's Chinatown front and centre.

We thank our fantastic panelists for sharing their insights:
๐ŸŒฟ Jordan Eng, President of the Vancouver Chinatown Business Improvement Association
๐ŸŒฟ Adam James, Founder and Managing Principal of Ryder Architecture's Canadian practice
๐ŸŒฟ Sarah Kirby-Yung, City of Vancouver Deputy Mayor
๐ŸŒฟ Andy Yan, Director of the City Program at Simon Fraser University

And our moderator, Henry Heng Lu, Executive Director of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. Guests were able to expand on the conversation over a networking reception, connecting with fellow community, business, and policy leaders.

Thank you to all who joined us for such an insightful evening! We look forward to welcoming more community moments like this at the Garden.

You asked, and we answered! We are adding one more session of Gongs in the Garden on August 28.

Move through the paths, courtyards, and quiet spaces at your own pace before settling into the Hall of One Hundred Rivers for a 75-minute gong experience led by Aravind Vanchesan of Theta Space. .space_

This is a deeply restorative, lying-down experience with no effort, movement, or prior meditation experience required. Guests will be guided through grounding, intention setting, breathwork, and a full gong journey designed to support deep rest and inner stillness.

The session features many large gongs, including two 38-inch Sun Gongs, creating a layered resonance that many experience as spacious, timeless, and deeply calming.
