Vaughan Public Libraries VPL offers welcoming destinations that educate, excite and empower. We offer a variety of great resources, services and programs for all ages.

Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) exists at the heart of our community, providing an extensive collection of resources and welcoming spaces for learning, connecting and discovering. Library cards are free of charge to anyone who lives, owns property, works or goes to school full-time in the City of Vaughan. Drop in to discover your local library today. We have twelve libraries located throughout the City of Vaughan to serve you:

A Digital Membership is a way for customers to enjoy digital resources and services at Vaughan Public Libraries without needing to physically visit a library location. To better serve our customers, we are making some changes to how Digital Membership works. This change will take effect on Monday, December 14, 2026.

Hey Vaughan community, check out this exhibit at your local library!

Speaking of Democracy is an engaging, bilingual exhibit offering key facts about democracy in Canada and featuring quotes on democracy from significant historical figures.

The exhibition is designed to engage Ontarians in conversation about significant and timely issues. We ask: Are we taking democracy for granted? What is democracy all about? How has it evolved? What institutions underpin it – duly elected legislatures and their executives, the judiciary, the media, and civil society? Do they need to change? Where is there room for innovation? In these rapidly changing times, is it important to maintain and support democracy?

Speaking of Democracy is located at the 📍Bathurst Clark Resource Library between Sept 17 to Oct 29.

Discover 3 of our autumn exhibits running throughout September and October, exploring topics including refugee experiences, Indigenous reconciliation, and Canadian democracy at libraries across Vaughan.
