A special week at Clare McFaul Long-Term Care Home as we welcomed our very first residents.

After years of planning and preparation, seeing our residents walk through the doors and begin making their home was a moment we will never forget.

To our residents and their families: thank you for placing your trust in us. To our staff: we are grateful to you for your commitment to providing exceptional care to our residents. We are so happy to be a part of the community.

Today marks an important milestone for Clare McFaul Long-Term Care Home and the Ontario Government. After years of planning, construction and preparation, the home is officially open.

The name Clare McFaul carries a special history in this community. Clare dedicated many years to public service, including serving as Reeve and later Warden, and was known for his commitment to his community and the people who called it home. We are proud that his name and legacy will live on through a place dedicated to caring for others.

Opening a new long-term care home takes the work and commitment of many people. A special thank you to the , , the entire Town Council and municipal staff for their support and partnership throughout this journey. We are also grateful to the for its support in making this new home a reality.

Thank you as well to every person who worked to bring Clare McFaul Long-Term Care Home from an idea and a plan to the beautiful home you see today.

Today is about recognizing the women who give so much of themselves every single day. The mothers on our teams, the mothers living in our homes, the daughters caring for parents, the grandmothers, the caregivers, and the women who step into a motherly role when someone needs support most.

In senior living, we see every day how much love, patience, strength, and sacrifice motherhood carries with it. We see it in quiet moments, comforting words, phone calls, visits, and acts of care that never ask for recognition.
