Thank You – Irrigated Land Lease Auction (June 8, 2026)

The Municipal District of Taber would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the Irrigated Land Lease Auction held on June 8, 2026. We were pleased to see such a strong turnout and appreciate the interest shown in this opportunity.

We are also pleased to share that the minimum bid of $400.00 per acre was met by all bidders. As a result, the annual lease revenue—based on the proposed 4 blocks and 15 pivots (135-acre quarter section pivots)—will be approximately $1,194,750 (to be shared equally between project partners: the Bow River Irrigation District and Municipal District of Taber).

Leases were successfully awarded to bidders who are residents of the Municipal District of Taber or irrigators within the Bow River Irrigation District.

The MD of Taber, in partnership with the Bow River Irrigation District, is hosting a public auction for irrigated agricultural land leases.

On April 7, the Municipal District of Taber Agricultural Service Board (ASB) hosted its annual Commodity and Producer Group Meeting. This important gathering provides agricultural organizations with an opportunity to share their successes and challenges from the past year, and to discuss how the Municipal District of Taber can continue to support their work and the agriculture industry as a whole—both locally and across the province.
