Stage 3 Water Restrictions

Effective immediately, Greater Vernon Water has moved to Stage 3 Water Restrictions due to severe drought conditions, low snowpack, and declining reservoir levels. In support of these measures, we will discontinue field irrigation and bus washing until further notice.

We have already implemented a number of water conservation strategies within our facilities and will continue to identify and adopt additional measures to further reduce water consumption wherever possible. We remain committed to doing our part to help preserve the community's water supply during this challenging period.

Field irrigation will be turned off immediately.

Vehicle (bus) washing will be suspended except for safety reasons (windows, lights, etc.)

E-Bikes and E-Scooters

School District 22 is currently working in partnership with our local RCMP to raise awareness about the safe and legal use of e-bikes, e-scooters, and other small electric devices. As more students are using these devices to travel to and from school, we want to ensure that safety remains our shared priority. School grounds are active, high-traffic environments, and higher-speed electric devices can present increased risks for students and staff.

We also want to be clear that not all electric devices are treated the same under the law. While some e-bikes may be permitted when they meet specific requirements, many other devices—such as certain e-scooters, e-dirt bikes, and mini-motorcycles—are not legally allowable for use in public spaces. As a result, devices that are not legally permitted in public spaces are not allowed on school grounds at any time.

Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school communities safe, respectful, and caring places for all!

Thursday May 14, 2026 is Moose Hide Campaign Day

School District 22 acknowledges Moose Hide Campaign Day, a significant day dedicated to ending gender-based violence. This campaign began as a BC-born Indigenous-led grassroots movement and has grown into a nationwide effort to end violence towards women and children.

Moose Hide Campaign Day is grounded in Indigenous ceremony and traditional ways of learning and healing. Wearing the moose hide pin signifies a commitment to honor, respect, and protect the women and children in our lives and to speak out against gender-based and domestic violence.

National Principal's Day - May 1, 2026

May 1st is National Principal's Day, and we're taking a moment to celebrate the incredible school leaders who make such a difference in students' lives every single day.
