The Family Resource Centre Society believes that the wealth of the community is reflected in the health, happiness, and security of each individual and family. We provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere which allows clients to comfortably explore opportunities for personal growth through counselling, groups, education and support. Our objectives are to provide information and services such as educ
ation, referrals and counselling to help people in their journey to well being; to provide people of the North Okanagan with opportunities to receive and give information, leadership and direction towards a healthier community; to offer services in such a way that individuals and families can receive and give support and develop a sense of belonging and self-esteem; and to coordinate all these facilities and programs with existing and future community agencies and services. We offer individual adult counselling, Couples counselling, Family counselling, Sexual Abuse Recovery for Women and Men, Family Support, Sexual Abuse Intervention Program for Children, Therapeutic Counselling, Healthy Families Programs, Parenting Isn’t Easy programs and volunteer programs. Some of the groups available to adults can include Women's anger management, Inward Bound, Transforming Shame, Beginners African Style Dance for Women, Men's Anger Management, Assertiveness, Parenting Anxious Children and Couple's Communication. Children's groups can include Teen Group, Creative Connections, Christmas Crafts, School's Cool, Cooking, and Rowing.
