🐻 Bear Smart in Victoria Beach

As residents and visitors return for the summer season, it is important to remember that black bears are a natural part of Manitoba's wildlife.
Simple actions can help reduce unwanted bear encounters:
✔ Secure garbage and recycling
✔ Keep pet food indoors
✔ Clean BBQs after use
✔ Remove bird feeders when bears are active
✔ Never intentionally feed wildlife

Bears that gain access to human food can become accustomed to people, creating safety concerns for both residents and wildlife.
By reducing attractants around cottages and homes, we can help keep our community safe while keeping bears wild.
