At Caring Families Society, community is at the heart of everything we do. 💙

That's one of the reasons we're so excited to host our upcoming Open House BBQ.

Before then, we'd love to hear from you:

What's the book that you recommend to every foster caregiver?
We've got a library of books you can borrow from and the three that are standing our right now are:
1. What Happened to You? Conversations on Trauma, Resilience and Healing by Bruce Perry and Oprah Winfrey
2. Delinquent, A True Story About Homelessness, Foster Care, and Addiction by James Dorsey (foster caregiver and mentor!)
3. Creative Interventions with Traumatized Children edited by Cathy Malchiodi

There's so many good choices!
Let us know if you'd like to borrow one.

🐱 Meet Taonga, our Chief Event Inspector.

She's been keeping watch from her favourite spot outside our office window, making sure everyone can find us for our Open House BBQ. 😸

After carefully reviewing the plans, she only has one question:

"Are there enough hot dogs?" 🌭😂

While Taonga handles quality control, we're busy getting ready for a fantastic afternoon of community connection, face painting, prizes, and family fun.

Taonga hopes to see lots of friendly faces on June 18! 🐾💙

Who are foster caregivers?

Caregivers provide temporary care for children who cannot live with their families. The goal is to return children to their natural family as soon as safely possible.

Caregivers are a family or single person opening their home to care for a child or youth, sharing their love and commitment. They provide a supportive home for a young community member while their family heals and becomes strong again.

It is an act of care for community.
