You can be more connected with what is happening first hand at the school by attending a PAC meeting, volunteering or joining the PAC Executive. All parents who have a child enrolled at Sir James Douglas Elementary School are automatically enrolled in the PAC. Our mission is to enhance and support the educational, physical and emotional development of our children. We listen, discuss, advise, info
rm, support, serve, contribute, and engage in many aspects of school life. Find all of the information that you need at our new website: http://sjdpacvictoria.ca/
What does the PAC Do?
- We work with school administration to represent the voice of parents.
- Through community building events and other local initiatives, we raise money that goes directly to the school to fund home reading, classroom resources for teachers, athletic equipment, emergency preparedness items, fine arts assemblies, school musical, and library books (just to name a few).
- We offer educational opportunities to our parents on such diverse subjects as child safety, special needs challenges, effective parenting, and emergency preparation.
- Lastly, we have fun! We plan social opportunities, such as Halloween Dance and Spring Fair, for our school to come together as a community. Community building at every level is a priority for our PAC. The PAC is a great way for parent to be involved in their children's school experience. Parents participate with the PAC in a volunteer capacity only and your support is very much welcomed. Please consider coming to a PAC meeting, helping out with an activity or an initiative or volunteering for our Executive.
