Job Description
1. Coaching Duties
Pre Competitive Program Manager
• Monitor teaching effectiveness of all precompetitive staff, including standardized lesson focus, attendance, use of pool space, and staff training
• Develop and implement training templates, schedules, and curriculum for TESSL and Partnership programs.
• Maintain a safe environment for all athletes and staff while training, traveling, and competing.
• Attend swim meets at which Partnership athletes are participating.
• Supervise, assess and on occasion coach all TESSL and Partnership groups.
• With input from other coaching staff, monitor training group composition, progression, and size.
• Develop and maintain coaching certification levels and professional development.
2. Administrative & Management Duties
• Oversee relationship with City of Victoria for partnership programs, including invoicing for Tyee share of fees and liaising with staff about schedules and fee structure before publication of Active Living Guide each season.
• Oversee all registration and fee invoicing for the TESSL program.
• Manage staffing of all TESSL, and Partnership programs at Crystal Pool
• Monitor hourly paid coaches for payroll by collecting and reviewing timesheets.
• Input Coaches hours into Ceridian System, by the date require per pay period. Work with the Head Coach to discuss all mutually relevant topics: club fees, pool space issues, technical initiatives, member issues, etc.
• Initiate projects as necessary, on at least a break-even basis; these must be reported to the Head Coach; Board approval must be sought for any projects that impact the competitive membership.
• Develop, assess, and revise appropriate mechanisms for determining hourly wages for all coaches.
• Oversee all SwimBC and SNC registrations for Partnership program swimmers
• Oversee the planning and ex*****on of all precompetitive events, such as the “Just Keep Swimming” swim meets, and session end get togethers.
• Generate opportunities for coaching development, including, (but not limited to),
in-services, coaches meetings, and mentorship per session (Fall,Winter,Spring,And Summer)
• Develop, assess, and revise appropriate mechanisms for determining hourly wages for all coaches.
• Promote / Advertise Partnership and TESSL programming including but not limited to; updating Tyee’s community boards at crystal pool, attending wellness fairs, creating and distributing promotional materials.
• Communicate with Partnership and TESSL Families, including but not limited to contributing Pre Competitive program content to Tyee Aquatic Club’s Monthly Newsletter.
• Communicate with parents regularly, including reporting on highlights and accomplishments at swim meets attended by Partnership swimmers.
• Generate regular verbal reports to the board on the status of: Precompetitive/developmental programs, Partnership programs, and TESSL
• Liaise with City staff for PR purposes — making sure staff and swimmers are positive representatives of Tyee, and that City staff perceive this as a constant.
Qualifications
• WSI certification, NCCP Community Coach, NCCP Level 1 , and or relevant experiencing in coaching/swimming/ Program Planning Management.
• Vulnerable sector criminal record check
• CAC Safe Sport eLearning Training Completed
• Para swimming eLearning Module Completed

Salary and Benefits
• Hourly position starting with 8 on deck hours (Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4-6pm) + 2 paid hours for program planning per week (Compensation is commensurate with experience)
• Tyee Masters membership for 2021-2022 season
