🚨 INFORMATION UPDATE - CP Underpass Community Art Project 🚨

The Border Regional Library, Arts Mosaic and the Town of Virden would like to provide an update on the CP Underpass Community Art Project.

Plans were underway for the project to move forward this fall, with volunteers completing important preparatory work inside the tunnel. Unfortunately, some of this work was intentionally damaged by graffiti placed overtop of the prepared surfaces and light fixtures within the walkway near the end of August.

As a result, the project is being placed on hold for the remainder of the year while the project partners determine the best way to proceed. Work is anticipated to resume in the spring, and we look forward to continuing this project with the community.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Home Hardware for their generous donation of paint, which was used as part of the preparation work completed by volunteers.

🎨How You Can Help 🎨
Donations of paint or supplies for the project are gratefully accepted at Arts Mosaic and the Border Regional Library – Virden Branch during regular business hours.

We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm, support and engagement this project has received from the community. We look forward to creating something special together and seeing the underpass transformed through community art.
Please watch for more information in the spring regarding the restart of the project. Public art sessions will be scheduled once work has resumed, we hope you will join us.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this project so far. We look forward to creating together with you, to bring new life to this community space.

We lend out Envoy Connects through our branches for patrons who experience print disabilities. If you have been wanting your own device rather than borrowing ours, they are affordable and CELA, the Centre for Equitable Library Access, has a webinar coming up where you can learn about the device and how to load it up coming in September. They are a fantastic resource.
