WAKE UP for Spring!

After several sleepy years, and an immensely successful Denwood Community Winter Carnival, our little community is waking up. With the melting snow and clearing of all the winter mess we are all getting outside for our spring cleaning and caring for our homes.

In the same way, the Denwood Community Council is looking at our neighbourhood and community spaces and wanting to give them the same care and spring cleaning. As our members return from the madness and chaos of Maple Resolve, we are planning a community cleanup day; Wednesday June 1st from 15:00 to 19:00, to help show our Denwood Spirit and bring the same care and pride to our community spaces as we bring to our homes. Denwood is an extension of our homes and deserves our care.

This is an opportunity to teach our families about our community, and to show everyone our concern for our environment. CFHA will be providing bags and gloves to help with the effort, and we will be seeking out a generous volunteer with a Truck to help move the gathered debris to the designated disposal site at BPH. The goal is to clean up litter and debris from not just our yards, but the play spaces, park areas, pathways, and roadside and ravine green spaces we share and enjoy as a community. We hope for a fun few hours meeting our neighbours and helping our community shine.

There will be water and snacks, and a chance to win a draw/giveaway, anyone who shows up gets a no cost entry. Open to all members and family members of base residents.

We hope to see every Denwood family out as many hands make light work. We will be meeting in the old MFRC parking lot with supplies at 15:00, and if any of our younger family members need community service hours, we can definitely sign off for that :-) We are all busy, if you can’t come out for the whole time, whatever help you can provide is appreciated. Remember this is a shared community we all live in.

We will See you then!
