Thank you isn't enough. It was a bit of an emotional day seeing these great men and women leave our lot but, at the same time, a relief as we know that our communities are no longer under threat. We are forever grateful for the support from these municipal departments from all over Saskatchewan that answered the call. Safe travels to them as they make their way home today. Our LRRFD family grew significantly over the past week - be safe to each and everyone of you ❤️

Firefighters Return Home!

After being deployed on May 29th to help combat the wildfires in the North firefighters from Wakaw and Cudworth stations returned home yesterday afternoon!

To all of the Weyakwin and La Ronge fire crews we have had the privilege of working with over the last two weeks it has truly been an honour. The camaraderie, dedication, and professionalism shown by each and every crew member made a challenging situation not only manageable but inspiring.

To all of the new Brothers and Sisters we’ve gained during this deployment it was truly a pleasure to work alongside each and every one of you. The bonds built on the fire line will not be forgotten.

La Ronge Wildfire Update:

Crews have been working hard in and around the La Ronge area providing structural protection to safeguard the community. Early Friday morning, firefighters responded quickly as the wildfire began encroaching on the industrial area.

Yesterday’s rainfall helped slow the fire’s progress, but it wasn’t enough to extinguish it. A significant amount of additional precipitation is still needed to make a real impact.
